General information and scope
This document explains the nature of the information and the limitations connected with use of the Sapilumen website, Android application, knowledge base and related learning materials, together called the Services. The Services are provided by the operator Sapilumen.
This document supplements the Terms and Conditions but does not replace them. Data-handling rules are described in the Privacy Policy. If the documents differ, the Terms and Conditions and mandatory applicable law take precedence.
Educational nature of the materials
Sapilumen materials are intended for independent language learning and provide educational and reference information. They are not an official curriculum, professional accreditation, diploma, language certificate or certified translation.
The Services do not replace advice from a teacher, translator or another qualified professional when the accuracy of a message has legal, medical, financial, immigration, examination or other material consequences.
Learning results
We aim to provide a clear route through theory, practice, writing, audio and progress tracking. Learning speed and results nevertheless depend on the starting level, regularity of practice, chosen path, individual circumstances and practice outside the Services.
We do not guarantee a particular proficiency level within a fixed period, an examination result, employment, fluency or the same outcome for every user. Progress indicators in the application describe completed activity within the Service and are not an official assessment of language proficiency.
Accuracy, examples and updates
We review learning materials and correct reported errors, but we cannot guarantee that every example is complete, error-free or current at every moment. Some rules and examples may be deliberately simplified when a topic is introduced and refined in later lessons.
Content, study order, interfaces and features may change as the project develops. If you find an inaccuracy, contact Support or email [email protected] with the page, passage and reason for the report.
Language variation, pronunciation and audio
Pronunciation, vocabulary, spelling, translation and appropriateness can vary by region, dialect, register, speaker and context. A word or construction may have more than one correct translation or use.
Some audio may be generated with VOICEVOX speech synthesis. This audio is a learning aid and should not be treated as the only authority for natural pronunciation. For important uses, compare several reliable sources and speech from native speakers.
Application operation and technical availability
The Services are provided in the form available at the relevant time. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation or compatibility with every device, browser or operating-system version. Access may be interrupted by maintenance, fixes, security requirements, network failures or third-party platforms.
In the current application, progress and settings may be stored locally on the device. Uninstalling the application, clearing its data, resetting the device or having no usable backup may result in lost progress. The Terms and Conditions contain further rules on use and local progress.
Third-party services and external links
The Services may link to Google Play, VOICEVOX and other external resources. We do not control their content, availability, security, data practices, payments or changes. A link does not mean that we endorse every part of an external resource.
Review the terms and privacy notice of a third-party service before using it. Third-party names, trademarks and materials belong to their respective owners.
User responsibility
You choose your learning path, assess whether the materials suit your purpose and remain responsible for decisions made from them. Before using a phrase or translation in an official document, agreement, medical situation, trip, examination or other important communication, verify its accuracy and context independently.
You are responsible for lawful use of the Services, the security of your device and available backups, and respect for third-party rights.
Intellectual property
Rights in the brand, design, software and original learning materials belong to the Sapilumen operator or the relevant rightsholders. Third-party components and materials are used under their respective licences and with required attribution.
This document does not transfer intellectual-property rights or grant additional permission to copy or distribute materials. Permitted use is governed by the Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
Limitation of liability and mandatory rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, loss of local progress or consequences of decisions based solely on learning materials where they result from the actions of the user, an external service or circumstances outside the operator's reasonable control.
Nothing in this document excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer guarantees and rights remain available, as does liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where applicable law so provides.
Changes and contact
We may update this document when the Services, learning methods, third-party integrations or legal requirements change. The current revision date appears at the beginning of the page. Material changes apply subject to mandatory user rights.
