Introduction
This policy explains which cookies and similar browser-storage technologies the Sapilumen website may use, why they are needed and how to change your choice. It applies to the website and does not replace the separate application Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text records stored by your browser when you visit a website. They can keep the website working, remember settings and, only with consent, support analytics. The website may also use browser local storage for settings that are not cookies.
Storage used on this website
The website uses essential storage only until you choose Accept all. Google Analytics 4 and Yandex Metrica with Session Replay then load on public pages. Their purposes and storage periods are described in the Website analytics section below.
Essential cookies and local storage
These records are required for website operation, security or a setting you explicitly selected. They cannot be disabled through the banner, but you can remove them through your browser settings.
- sapilumen_cookie_consent. Stores the Accept all or Essential only choice for 180 days so the banner is not shown on every visit.
- Website language. Polylang may store the selected interface language in the pll_language cookie. Public language URLs remain the primary language-selection mechanism.
- WordPress. For signed-in editors, WordPress uses operational cookies for authentication, security and administration settings.
- Colour theme. The light or dark theme choice is stored in localStorage under learning-platform-theme. This is a local browser setting rather than a cookie.
Optional cookies
Google Analytics 4 and Yandex Metrica are optional services. Their scripts and requests do not load before you choose Accept all. Choosing Essential only keeps the website available without these analytics tags.
Website analytics

This section covers the Sapilumen website and does not change the description of data collection in the Android application. Google Analytics 4 and Yandex Metrica load on public website pages after you choose Accept all. Before that choice, or when you choose Essential only, the website does not load their scripts or send requests to them.
The tags help us measure visits and improve pages. They process information about viewed pages, traffic sources, the browser and device, and actions on the website. Yandex Metrica includes a click map, link tracking, an accurate bounce rate and Session Replay. Session Replay records actions and page content to replay visits; recordings are available in Metrica for 15 days, including the current day.
Your choice is saved for 180 days and can be changed through the cookie settings. If you choose Essential only or reset your choice after analytics has started, the website stops the tags in the current tab, removes some accessible analytics cookies and local-storage entries, and reloads the page. Reload other open tabs separately. This does not cancel requests already sent or delete data held by providers or cookies on Yandex domains.
The table lists standard cookie lifetimes from the providers’ documentation. The set depends on tag features, region and browser; a visit does not necessarily create every cookie listed. Return visits can renew a cookie, and the browser may shorten its lifetime. These periods do not describe event or report retention in analytics accounts.

Metrica also uses localStorage and sessionStorage, for example for a browser identifier, request ordering and retries. Yandex documents the full list. The _ym_ucs cookie belongs to the optional server-side cookie-resetting feature; loading the tag alone does not imply that this feature is enabled. You can clear accessible website data in your browser settings.
Managing your choice

Retention
Consent is stored for 180 days. Other essential-cookie periods are determined by WordPress, Polylang and browser settings. The local colour-theme preference remains until it is changed or website data is cleared in the browser.
Third-party services
Following an external link, for example to Google Play or VOICEVOX, opens another website with its own cookie policy. Cookies from those websites are not set merely by displaying a link; they may apply after the external resource is opened or embedded.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the cookies in use change, new integrations are introduced or the consent process is revised. The current revision date appears at the beginning of this document.
